Tips and strategy
- Start with the categories you are certain about and leave the ambiguous words for last. A word that fits two groups is much easier to place once the obvious members have gone.
- Hunt for the odd one out rather than the easy fit. Every word on the board belongs somewhere, so the ones that seem unrelated are often the clue to a category you have not spotted yet.
- Pull out sets you recognise even when you cannot name the theme. Three words that feel connected usually give up their category before you have worked out the label for it.
- Keep a running note of the words you have not placed. The last two or three are where the board finally explains itself, and rushing those is what breaks an otherwise clean solve.

Frequently asked questions
- How do I play Word Jam: Association?
- You drag words from the board into the category they belong to. Each correct classification moves you closer to clearing the board, and the difficulty sits in the words that look like they fit more than one group.
- What do I do if two words fit the same category?
- Leave the doubtful word until the end. Once the more obvious members of a group have been sorted, the remaining slots usually make it clear where the ambiguous one belongs.
- How do I clear the board in Word Jam: Association?
- You sort every word on the board into the category it belongs to. Each correct classification moves you closer to finishing, so the board clears as the last few words find their group.
