About this game

Neon Snake is the game you already know, re-lit in laser green. Every orb you swallow makes the tail longer and the movement a fraction quicker, so the room you have to manoeuvre keeps shrinking. The board is a clean neon grid with no clutter, which makes it a good fit for a two-minute break on a phone or a full keyboard session on a desktop.

How to play

1. 1Steer with the arrow keys, WASD or the on-screen D-pad.
2. 2Swallow the glowing orbs to grow and raise your score.
3. 3Hitting a wall or your own tail ends the run.

Tips and strategy

• Work the outside of the board. A tail that runs along the walls keeps the middle open, and the middle is the only place with room to turn out of trouble.
• Turn in long deliberate lines rather than tight circles. The tail retraces your last few turns exactly, so a spiral is a trap you build for yourself.
• Take early orbs on the far side of the grid. You want the space behind you rather than in front, because the board only gets faster from here.
• There is no pause and no undo. If a route looks tight at your current length, let the orb come to you instead of crossing the board for it.
