Tips and strategy
- Release as you swing upward past a peg rather than at the bottom of the arc. Letting go at the low point fires you sideways, and it is the momentum carried out of the swing that buys height.
- Steer the instant you leave a peg. Flight path is the only thing you control in the air, so the correction that saves the run happens in the first moment after launch, not at the last.
- Look one peg ahead while you are still attached to the current one. The grapple moves fast, and choosing your next anchor after you have already launched is how you swing straight into a hazard.
- Keep Hyper Boost for a shaft section you already know. It is at its best skipping a pattern that has beaten you twice, not as a panic button in the middle of a fall.

Frequently asked questions
- What is Hyper Boost in Chainline and when should I use it?
- It is an extra launch you can trigger once the meter is fully charged, by double-tapping space or clicking, or by pressing Shift and E. It is best spent skipping a section you keep failing rather than firing it the moment it fills.
- Can I play Chainline with a mouse only?
- Yes. Holding the left mouse button grabs a peg and staying attached swings you, then releasing launches you into the air. Steering in mid-air is done with A and D or the arrow keys, and keyboard players use space or W to grapple.
- How long does a run in Chainline last?
- There is no finish line. The shaft is endless, so a run carries on until you hit a hazard you cannot recover from, and the height you climb is the only measure that matters.
